Mahogany non-working Broken-Arch Pediment Wheel Barometer c1815
This barometer is a copy of a full size barometer made by A. Rivolta of Chester c1815. The Banjo shape was probably introduced by Italian immigrants in the late 18th Century. The barometer has shell inlays and stylised flower inlay with stringing. The barometer dial is engraved and silvered and has real hands. The alcohol thermometer dial is also engraved. The barometer is topped by a broken pediment with a brass finial.
